fitness and
beauty.
Whether you are looking for a health
treatment or culture,
golf
or Nordic walking,

pleasure.
Bad Griesbach's thermal
water is often referred to as the "gold
of Bad Griesbach". It wells up from a
depth of 1,522 metres and is naturally heated
to temperatures of 30, 38 or 60 degrees Celsius.
Since the thermal springs began to well up
at the beginning of the 1970s, this 'gold'
has undergone a few changes. A modern thermal
spa complex very quickly sprang up alongside
the traditional Bavarian old
quarter, turning Bad Griesbach's gold
into something magical for your health. In
addition to the Wohlfühl
thermal spa which has a total of more
than 1.600m² of water, many of the town's
hotels also have their own thermal pools.
Many establishments also have covered corridors
offering you direct access to the Wohlfühl
thermal spa in your bathrobe. If you want
to immerse yourself in a world of rest and
relaxation, you're in the right place.
Water
is the basic element of all life. At the thermal
spa complex in Bad Griesbach, it is also
the basis of a truly remarkable experience.
Listen to the crashing waterfalls, let the
tropical surroundings whisk you away to distant
lands, or enjoy the invigorating effect of
the bubble loungers, massaging water jets
and jacuzzi.
In addition, the wonderfully warm "Bad
Griesbach gold" is a source of good health
and regeneration. Containing natural fluoride
and high levels of sodium,
hydrogen carbonate and chloride, the thermal
waters can alleviate chronic rheumatic
complaints and degenerative diseases of the
spine, for instance. It promotes rehabilitation
after operations and injuries, and is also
approved as a drinking
cure for the treatment
of osteoporosis and age-related musculo-skeletal
atrophy. Whether you wish to swim at a brisk
pace or enjoy a leisurely bathe, boost your
circulation in the large Kneipp
hydrotherapy pool or restore your health
in the therapy pool – in the 13 different
pools at the Wohlfühl
thermal spa, all of which are filled exclusively
with natural thermal
mineral water, you're guaranteed to find
your very own spa heaven.
The aroma of essential
oils soothes your soul. Cleansing and
revitalising, it gives you a sense of Mother
Nature's power. With each minute and each
treatment, your

you start to feel like a new person. Restore

thermal spa. The main focus here is on
relaxation and recuperation. For those looking

Hamam Turkish

on which many of our individual pamper and

enhance your beauty,
wellbeing
and harmony. Treat yourself to an entirely

Bad Griesbach in swing:
When Bad Griesbach is referred to as the golfing
mecca of Germany, we modest folk from
Bavaria
almost feel a little embarrassed. On the other
hand, we are also proud that golfing
in Bad Griesbach is such a superlative
experience. The resort has six 18-hole championship
courses, three 9-hole courses, a 6-hole children's
course and the "Golfodrom®".
It's incredible: three courses designed by
Bernhard Langer in one place and at one club.
Bad Griesbach is home to Europe's largest
golf resort and the world's largest golf school,
which employs 37 pros. With an incredible
selection of more than 180 tournaments throughout
the year, Bad
Griesbach has earned itself a reputation
as a leading golfing
destination. You couldn't find better
conditions for a very special personal golfing
experience in fantastic surroundings. Take
up the challenge of the slopes and the differences
in altitude at the Aldiana
Golf Course in Lederbach, put your putting
skills to the test on the extensive greens
in Uttlau, demonstrate your sporting finesse
at the demanding Brunnwies Golf Course (designed
by Bernhard Langer) or at the Sagmühle
course with its expanses of water. You
can also enjoy the unique character of the
Beckenbauer
Golf Course (designed by Bernhard Langer)
where the greens are separated from the water
by stone walls. And last but not least, the
Jaguar
Golf Course has a unique charm with its
extremely undulating fairways. Such a varied
choice of golfing facilities is extremely
hard to find - and we are admittedly proud
of this fact! Learn like the professionals.
Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced
player – you can always learn something
in Bad Griesbach,
with a course at the Bad Griesbach Golf
Academy.
Never stop moving!
Buzzing with energy. Active holidays in Bad
Griesbach. Even if you don't play golf,
you'll find plenty of other sporting activities
to indulge in. How about some Nordic
walking, for example? Bad
Griesbach offers active holidaymakers
the chance to experience this new niche sport
that combines fitness, fun and fabulous
scenery, and it has the most extensive
network of Nordic
walking trails in Germany. With 17 different
trails covering a total of 150 kilometres,
including a circular marathon route, an overall
difference in altitude of 900 metres, and
a wide variety of routes traversing the forest
floor, gravel paths, farm tracks or soft meadows
- Bad Griesbach's network of Nordic
walking trails has something for all levels.
More than 60 qualified trainers offer tips
and information to both beginners and more
experienced athletes to help make this new
leisure activity healthy, efficient and enjoyable.
Another completely new attraction in Bad Griesbach
is the Nordic Active Center: in addition to
Nordic walking,
the spa garden
also offers a new fitness
activity with its Nordic Fitness Circle.
The only thing that the new fitness trail
has in common with the 'keep-fit trails' of
the 1970s is the desire to help a broad group
of users to improve their health and fitness
by taking part in fun, enjoyable sports activities.
Otherwise, the new concept has more similarities
with a state-of-the-art fitness
studio – but an open-air one. The
five training islands comprise various items
of equipment made of wood and steel, and provide
the perfect combination of sporting activity,
relaxation and enjoyment. Relaxation for the
body and mind – and for your feet, too:
at the new barefoot
trail. Unrestricted by shoes, your feet
have the opportunity to enjoy some fresh air
and experience a completely new set of sensations
on a variety of surfaces, treading on sand,
sandstone, limestone, a path made of sticks,
various granulations of gravel, granite paving
slabs, balancing blocks, split basalt, cobblestones,
boulders and logs. At the end, your feet get
treated to a dip in a Kneipp pool. Shoes must
be left outside in the storage provided. And
there's another new attraction: anti-frost
gravel, fleece and wood chips – a combination
that makes walking
particularly easy on your joints. With its
soft, flexible surface, this medicinal training
path makes it easier to take steps and is
therefore used to practise and strengthen
the relevant movements after operations. The
trail runs for 400 metres along the edge of
the Kurwald forest
to the viewing pavilion in the west of the
Bad Griesbach thermal complex. At all three
new facilities there are regular dates for
group sports sessions with experienced trainers.
Naturally, there are many more sport &
leisure facilities on offer in Bad
Griesbach: fitness studios for building
your strength and stamina, indoor and outdoor
tennis courts where you can practise your
loop and slice, running
and skating to improve your fitness. There's
also the Rottal
cycle route, various themed routes, pilgrimage
trails, cross-country skiing and much more
besides. Combine this with massages, steamrooms,
a relaxing day at the thermal spa or the Hamam
Turkish bath, and you can put together your
very own sports holiday. To keep even the
youngest visitors entertained, Bad
Griesbach also has a new pirate ship adventure
forest, wooden skittles, a trampoline, swing
and sandcastles to be discovered.
The countryside
passes slowly beneath you and the Alps rise
majestically in the distance. Free as a bird
on the wing, you glide over the hills and
valleys, fields, meadows and winding streams.
Up, up and away! A flight in a hot-air
balloon is as much a part of the Bad
Griesbach experience as whizzing down
the slide in the heated
outdoor pool. If you would rather explore
the countryside
of the Rottal valley from the ground -
no problem. You can hire a bike,
try your hand at horse riding, or explore
130km of marked footpaths, either on your
own or on a guided tour. Your efforts will
be rewarded with a Bad
Griesbach hiking badge. Bad Griesbach's
high ropes
course is a very special experience indeed
– a chance to develop new skills at
a height of 13 metres. Bad Griesbach also
has plenty to keep your mind active. The spa
town is an official German
bridge centre with its own bridge club.
The perfect place, therefore, to learn, practise
and perfect your game so you are ready to
compete in one of the many high-calibre tournaments.
After all these activities, you can always
look forward to an entertaining evening: a
gentle game of bowls, asphalt curling, outdoor
chess, or going for a dance with friends.
Gaze over the water and reflect on the day's
events, while trying to hook yourself a fish.
Alternatively, you can visit the municipal
gallery, attend a concert in the newly
renovated spa hall or enjoy some
fine dining. Feel alive and safe in the
knowledge that everything is as it should
be. Simply do whatever takes your fancy –
Bad
Griesbach will help you on your way.
The most beautiful aspects of Bad
Griesbach: a beautiful
land of cheer. It's just like being invited
to a friend's house. Everything is so familiar,
and yet there's always a chance you'll discover
something new. Experiences and impressions,
the unexplored and the unknown, encounters
and scenes that will stay with you for a long
time to come. You'll have a sense that you've
always belonged here, and you'll soon realise
that an invitation to Bad
Griesbach is also an opportunity for self-discovery!
Festivals
and fairs: It's no secret that the people
of Lower
Bavaria know how to party. In the area
around Bad
Griesbach, there are a number of towns
and villages with their own fire brigade festivals,
club parties, markets, dances and traditional
fun fairs.
Many of them are deeply rooted in tradition,
and there are a few modern additions too.
However, they all have one thing in common
- they are as original, welcoming and genuine
as the people that live here. Bad
Griesbach has three main festivals that
take pride of place during the summer. The
Spa Festival
enchants locals and visitors alike with its
spectacular firework display in the last week
of June, while in mid-June the old
quarter is bathed in the romantic glow
of hundreds of colourful lanterns at the Lantern
Festival.
The festival season culminates at the end
of August with the third largest fair in Bavaria,
the Karpfham Festival. Highlights include
the famous carriage drawn by ten horses. Visitors
can be sure of a warm welcome wherever they
go. Come and join the celebrations, which
are a great opportunity to get even closer
acquainted with the region
and its people than you thought possible.
Bad Griesbach
offers plenty
of variety: whether in the town itself
or in the surrounding
area – there are plenty of attractions
to explore. How about a trip to Ortenburg
Castle, for instance? A place where history
was written. With its arbours and paintings,
banqueting hall with its intricate inlaid
ceilings and magnificent tombs in the late-Gothic
parish church, this Renaissance-style castle
bears eloquent witness to this. A visit to
Passau, the "town on three rivers",
is always a pleasurable experience, as it
has a lot to offer - for visitors interested
in art and
events, as well as those who prefer browsing
the shops in the old quarter. Regensburg,
Salzburg and Landshut are a bit further away,
but also well worth a visit. Are you a bit
of a history buff? If so, the Bruder-Konrad-Hof
in Parzham and the St. Leonhard Museum in
Aigen are a great way to learn more about
rural life in the Rottal
valley. The Pullmann City Western town,
on the other hand, is an absolute must for
fans of the Wild West. Bad Griesbach is an
ideal base for a variety
of cultural tours.
